Masterson’s Pub , located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my most recent experience at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may look welcoming at first glance , what I encountered behind its walls was disturbing and far below any standard .

From the moment I entered , it was clear that upkeep was not a priority at this venue. The surfaces were tacky , and a overpowering stench of decaying beverages and dirty bathrooms permeated the entire establishment . Emitting a scent of a mixture of human waste, old age and illness . The counter , which should be the focal point of any pub, was overflowing with soiled cups and litter that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The restroom was in even a more revolting state — spilling over , with a shattered handle and tiles smeared in what I can only assume was human waste .

Many guests have reported seeing bugs darting across the bar area and evidence more info of rodent infestations in the adjoining rooms. Described as overly aggressive and violating, Cornwell’s misconduct has created an unwelcoming setting for women who frequent Masterson’s. His presence at the bar often appeared as that of a sweating predator than a genial proprietor .
